Simple Raspberry Coulis

December 27, 2019 Posted by Kyndall @ 6 Cakes & More 2 Comments

This Simple Raspberry Coulis really is super simple! Only 3 ingredients and so yummy. You can also use other fruits in the place of the raspberries. This is what I use for my Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies!

Simple Raspberry Coulis
Instructions
  1. Rinse your raspberries (or whatever fruit you're using) and place into a small sauce pot.
  2. Add your sugar and water.
  3. Place on your stove and turn the burner to a medium-low heat.
  4. Stir occasionally until it comes to a simmer.
  5. While it's simmering don't forget to stir frequently.
  6. Simmer for 2 minutes while stirring frequently.
  7. Remove from heat and let set in pot for 5 minutes.
  8. Place a mesh strainer over a bowl.
  9. Pour your cooked raspberry into the strainer.
  10. Work the coulis through the strainer.
  11. Occasionally run your spatula across the underside of the strainer. This will help when it starts to become thick and is hard to work more through. Note: Make sure there are NO seeds on your spatula before you do this!
  12. Once your left with mostly just seeds, set your strainer aside.
  13. Before it gets stirred up it will look like this.
  14. Stir your coulis and let cool completely before using or storing.
  15. Enjoy over the top of ice cream, oatmeal, mixed into buttercream and even cake or cupcake batter! The possibilities are endless!
  16. I love using this in my Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies. Click the Link for Recipe!! --> Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies
  17. Store and use within a week in the fridge or freeze for months.
